What's new in PCB elegance version 3.5:

Design manager
  • Print all sheets into one PDF file
  • Support for dangled pins
  • Support for connecting two powerpin nets to each other
  • Check for overlapping wires/busses
  • Create a netlist file including component/net properties
  • Annotation is now using a start number for a sheet (if available)
  • Support for user variables
  • Option in the design settings for saving symbols/geometries local
  • Display the pin count

Schematic/symbol editor
  • Add pins with auto increment pin name
  • Cross hair added
  • Dangled pins
  • Check for overlapping wires/busses
  • Addition of properties for a netname
  • Addition of a powerpin netname overrule property for a component
  • Edit annotate startnumber for a sheet
  • Check for overwriting a symbol in the global symbol directory
  • Change text including text height
  • Component selections
  • Edit layout containing reference
  • User variables

Geometry editor
  • Checking
  • When creating a standard geometry (DIP/SOIC/BGA/PGA/QFP) a set of rules can be used for creating pads with the right
  • Calculate distance between two objects
  • Crosshair added
  • Measurement

Layout editor
  • Edit copper thickness PCB,material, PCB thickness
  • True type fonts for adding texts
  • Display the pin count
  • Allow dialog "viewable objects" when routing
  • Create a gerber file from the drill holes
  • Save layout as a geometry
  • Add text on solder/paste mask layers
  • Most actions will result in a repaint, so pressing F5 is less necessary
  • During routing "viewable objects" can be executed, and the design rules of the current net can be modified
  • Select components on top/bottom layer separatly
  • Repaint options after trace draw or component move
  • Do not show areafill thin lines errors option
  • Reverse the copper layer names when gerber plotting
  • When clicking in the "viewable objects" dialog, the changes will be immediatly visible.
  • The number of via definitions is increased to 10
  • When modifying the design rules of nets, it is also possible to use a specific via for each net.
  • Cross hair added
  • High lighting top/bottom/inner pads when net is high lighted
  • Different color for component outline top/bottom
  • Different color for placement outline top/bottom
  • Use TRACEWIDTH and CLEARANCE for net properties when reading/updating a netlist
  • User variables
  • Option to display only one trace layer
  • Popup display showing pin/trace info when putting the mouse on an object
  • Improved component selection
  • Improved component positions export
  • Edit sheet containing reference
  • Component selections
  • Measurement
